Mannering Park is on Vales Point, a northerly oriented point of
land at the very southern end of Lake Macquarie.
Monterey Park is
located on the east side of the point, on Chain Valley Bay. To
the west of Vales Point is Wyee Bay.
At the northern end of Monterey Park's waterfront
reserve, a long jetty has been refurbished with new decking,
hand railings and lighting which switches on at dusk.
It is popular for throwing in a line or romantic strolls.
Conveniently located at the southern end of the waterfront reserve,
the boat ramp has guide poles at each side, a fish cleaning table
and the waterfront has plenty of convenient tie-rings.
For water which is always clear, no matter what the lake conditions,
Monterey Park's salt water pool is water-tested daily,
fully fenced with a safety gate and right next to the new playground.
Our BBQ facilities provide a great social spot for midday or evening
get togethers.
By Forpark Australia, the playground features a spiral slide,
curved slide, suspension bridge, kaleidoscope panel, tunnel, "shop
front", net climber, helix climber, tower with steering wheel
and spider pole. It is brightly coloured, designed
and manufactured to meet Australian standards.
Lake Macquarie is a fantastic playground for canoeing,
fishing, water-skiing or just put-puttering about in a dinghy
trying your luck with the fish.
Within a short walking distance are:
post office, bakery,
butcher, 2 take-away shops, video shop,
hairdresser/beautician, paper shop, bottle shop, fruit/vegetable
shop, chemist and laundromat.
If you need something which is not available in Mannering Park
it is only a 15 minute drive to Lake Haven shopping Centre with
Coles,
Woolworths, K-Mart, Best & Less
and a variety of specialty shops.
Morisset Golf Club is close by,
and it is only a short drive
to golf courses at Toukley, Wyong, Belmont,
Bateau Bay, Shelleys Beach and Forresters Beach. |
